Citizen journalism is when private individuals do essentially what professional reporters do – report information. That information can take many forms, from a podcast editorial to a report about a city council meeting on a blog. It can include text, pictures, audio and video. But it’s basically all about communicating information of some kind.
An extended lecture was held in Jinnah University For Women on January 29, 2011 under the supervision of Department of Mass Communication. The objective of lecture was to highlight the need of Citizen Journalism in the Society.
The Guest Speaker,Mr Owais Mangalwala is an Anchor and Producer in Dawn News Channel.
Mr.Owais Mangalwala gave a lecture on Citizen Journalism. He made the start of his speech by giving some examples on citizen journalism. He stated the following
“The people who are audience they used the tool of journalist”
